Whole experience (cafe + coffee): 34/40
Mecca, Mecca, Mecca. Kind of like Toby’s Estate and Campos but not as prevalent across Sydney/ the world these days.
I went here Sunday arvo with my mate Chris because you know, we’re still hipsters and Alexandria is all we have left.
Classy as always Mecca Alexandria is like Mecca (cafes) everywhere else I’ve been but I’d say more fashionable then King Street and more timeless than Harris Street/ that coffee cart.
I ordered a long black, Chris a filter coffee. As a local Chris seemed to know far more about what filter he was looking for and asked for something spicy (I think?).
Mecca’s house long black is a killer drop (it’s seasonal but a safe assumption to say it’ll be good when you go here). It’s juicy, creamy and rich – the kind of a dark chocolate coffee experience you are undoubtedly looking for in a long black as a Sydneysider.
Overall, it’s worth the visit, food looks great, interior even better. Word to the wise, if you’re driving here first, trust Google maps and second forgive yourself as you’ll likely drive past it.
